Should America switch to the Metric system?
The thing is, is that the United States, Myanmar, and Liberia are the only countries in the whole world that still use the "English system". That's it, just three countries. Myanmar is to the east of India and Liberia is on the western coast of Africa, and of course United States right between the North Atlantic Ocean and North Pacific Ocean. On the other hand there is the more widely used Metric system, it is more widely used because it is used by every other country besides the 3 that uses the English system. So why is the U.S. one of the biggest and most popular countries in the world not up-to-date with everyone one else? There are many reasons why the U.S. should switch to the metric system. some of them include that most of scientists world wide use the metric system and things could be lost in the confusing conversions between the two different systems. Another is the conversions themselves " Instead of having to remember that there are 12 inches in a foot, three feet in a yard, and 5280 feet to a mile, you just have to remember that there are 10 millimeters to a centimeter, 10 centimeters to a decimeter, and 10 decimeters to a meter" (Sean Ronney). To find more information on why the U.S. should switch visit...
