Chicken or Egg?

What came first? The chicken or the egg? It is one of the oldest questions ever asked. Usually scientists believe that the chicken came first based on the protein theory. Also religious believers feel that the chicken came first. however there is another side to this argument. Most evolutionists believe that the egg had to have come first. They feel that because of evolution the animal Gallus DeCosterus (it's the animal that eventually evolved into the chicken) the egg had to have come first. Their theory goes is that every animal evolves over time, it is inevitable. Knowing that Gallus DeCosterus will turn into a chicken there has to be a point where one becomes the other. The Gallus DeCosterus will lay an egg that is considered a chicken so therefore the egg came before the chicken. But on the other side of the table there is the scientist who, in the UK, conducted research that found that protein in the ovaries of the chicken is the only way for an egg to be created. So the chicken must have come first. The last side of the pro-chicken argument is that when god created all the animals he created the chicken with them so the chicken came before the egg. So there are both major sides to the argument, Who came first, the chicken, or the egg?
